New Spider-Man has been Chosen!0

Director of the planned Spider-man reboot Marc Webb (500 days of summer) has chosen 27-year-old thespian Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Lions for Lambs) to play the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-man.

Marc Webb was quoted as saying “Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor’s work understand his extraordinary talents. He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.” While he is currently considered unknown, Andrew Garfield’s career has definitely gone on the uprise as he is also starring in the upcoming David Fincher Flick, The Social Network as well as the male lead in Mark Romanek’s up coming Sci-fi/Drama/ Thriller Never Let me Go.

Shooting is planned for December this year, with a release date planned for July 3rd, 2012.
