I know you are all probably sick of the Superhero stuff I keep putting up in this segment. But this is all about entertainment news and Hollywood is all about Superheroes right now. So basically DC and Warner Brothers has come out and said that they will be making a movie out of The Justice League. That’s right Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, etc, all together in their own flick. Clearly the hype for Marvel’s The Avengers was too pervasive to ignore. However Marvel is taking the time and effort to introduce all the Avenger characters in their own movies leading to the team up. This is great because it lets us meet all the characters and understand the universe so by the time they all come together we understand the world and who they all are. DC on the other hand has the Green Lantern coming out in a few months plus the new Superman and the third Nolan Batman next year. But apparently The Justice League will be a completely independent project in 2013 and while using the same characters will have no link to any previous movie. This doesn’t fill me with confidence at all. Essentially we will see yet another version of Batman and Superman only a year after their new movies. Plus even though the Dark Knight Rises is still a year away and we know it’ll be great, Warner has said that they will be rebooting Batman AGAIN after Chris Nolan leaves, to take the character in a different direction. Come on Warner get your shit together. The studio clearly has a fantastic franchise with DC Comics but they certainly don’t have any idea what they should do with it.

I agree that warner/dc/whoever should get their act together and makes these movies happen. At least the Wonder woman tv show is proceeding…
Though might be just me, but after a decade of constant superhero movies I’m really starting to fade interest in it.. we talk about this in our next podcast actually. All I wanna see left is the next Batman, maybe the Avengers and the Spiderman reboot.
Or maybe the Spiderman musical just to see how disastrous it is!
Unfortunately everything thing I’ve heard about the Wonder Woman TV sounds awful. It’s shaping up to be more like Ally McBeal then a comic hero series.
Oh yea I forgot about the Spider-man musical… yikes! Maybe you should really just go and then ten years from now you can say “yes, a decade ago I went to see that god-awful Spidey musical!”
The next Batman is of course the one to watch… I’m a little iffy on the new Spider-man… seems weird that we are getting a new version so fast…
yea though I’m not expecting it to be super good, just curious on what they will do differently to the Sam Raimi ones
