Sorry, what was that? Trailermania

WOW it’s trailer week!!!! And believe it or not the hype is around a trailer that wasn’t even released. Way to under cut everybody Nolan. So incase you didn’t hear a trailer for the “Dark Knight Rises” was leaked last week and people went nuts. The trailer has been pulled off the net now but it’ll probably be officially released in a week or two. What we did get was a plethora of trailers, some good, some not so good. Here’s a few I thought were to worth a look:

Firstly this is a trailer for the prequel to one of my favorite horrors of all time, The Thing. It doesn’t look too bad and they even have a bit of music from the 1982 John Carpenter film, nice touch. But it’s still a prequel and they don’t tend to have a great track record, but the trailer keeps me interested.

The new Martin Scorsese movie Hugo. Now when I heard that Scorsese was doing a family film I was a little skeptical but then I thought, he knows what he’s doing. But I have to warn you this trailer makes this movie look so crap it hurts. It consists of Borat falling down and dog reaction shots. Hopefully the film is better but this trailer is awful. So enjoy :D

But saying that, the trailer for the second Sherlock Homes movie (A Game of Shadows) looks like lots of fun. Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law are back with Guy Ritchie directing again. Though I still don’t understand why there seems to be so many explosions in the late 1800s.

And speaking of films adapted from literature from the nineteenth century we also have John Carter. This film is based on the characters and stories from Edgar Rice Burroughs who is best known for creating Tarzan. I don’t know much about this franchise (it’s Disney so you know that’s what they’re aiming for) but it kind of looks like He-Man. Anyway the trailers cool and if you’re going to show a shirtless guy fighting spaceships, why not put it to a Johnny Cash song.

The last one I had to mention just because it was a trailer that made me laughed out loud. It’s for the new movie from the team who made Wallace and Gromit. That should sell you right there. But check out the trailer, it’s truly funny.
