I got really excited this week when I heard there were now pics out of not only the new Superman but also Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Then I saw the photos and to be honest I was a little underwelmed.
The superman suit looks a litte… I don’t know, bumpy? I don’t mind the darker colours of the costume but it does look like it’s made of those mats you put in the shower to stop yourself from slipping over. Hopefully it looks better in motion. Oh and Henry Cavill doesn’t seem to have the traditional superman hairdo. Instead he has mine… that’s good I guess.
As for Catwoman, she doesn’t seem very cat like. Now I was expecting this, after all this is the Chris Nolan Batman universe where everything is more grounded in reality. So it would be hard to find a practical reason to put kitty ears on a character who is essentially just a thief. Now she does look cool but nothing about this says Catwoman. Could be worse, could be this.
WOW it’s trailer week!!!! And believe it or not the hype is around a trailer that wasn’t even released. Way to under cut everybody Nolan. So incase you didn’t hear a trailer for the “Dark Knight Rises” was leaked last week and people went nuts. The trailer has been pulled off the net now but it’ll probably be officially released in a week or two. What we did get was a plethora of trailers, some good, some not so good. OMFG! It’s the damn official Dark Knight Rises poster. Awesome. Need I say more?
Fans of Lord of the Rings will know that the prequel/first book/intro to middle-earth, The Hobbit is now well into production. After years of dicking around with different directors and legal issues, the cameras are finally rolling with Peter Jackson back at the helm. Remember that great animated movie a few years back How To Train Your Dragon. That was one of those animated movies that showed Dreamworks could really do a great heart felt story with characters and stunning visuals. They didn’t use their usual formula of lots of silly jokes and celebrity cameos. It was almost like they were doing what Pixar does. In fact I heard a lot of people around the time even saying that it was as good if not better then many Pixar movies. Unfortunately for Dreamworks someone at Pixar must have heard this. Now the beast is awake and the lords of animation will crush their rivals beneath their heels just to show who is the true master of heart felt family animation. The movie is a year away and I don’t know anything about it. But it’s a Pixar movie about a scottish redhead with a bow and arrow…I’m there. Oh and sorry Dreamworks I hope Puss In Boots does okay……..LOL!
